Dragons and Damsels of New Hampshire
Presented by Pam Hunt, Avian Conservation Biologist

The Nashua Garden Club invites garden and outdoor enthusiasts to its February 5th program, Dragons and Damsels of New Hampshire, presented by Pam Hunt, Avian Conservation Biologist and member of the New Hampshire Audubon. You may be familiar with the dragonflies buzzing over your yard or the damselflies that land on your kayak, but do you REALLY know these ancient insects? Spend a winter evening learning their fascinating story and hearing results of the 5-year “New Hampshire Dragonfly Survey”.

After developing a passion for birds at the age of 12, Pam later earned a B.S. in biology from Cornell University, then an M.A. in zoology from the University of Montana, and finally a Ph.D. from Dartmouth College. She then served on Colby-Sawyer College’s adjunct faculty and currently works with NH Fish and Game where she is coordinating and prioritizing the state’s bird research as she remains enormously active in the dragonfly field.

Join Pam and Garden Club members at 7 PM on Wednesday, February 5th at the First Baptist Church, 121 Manchester Street, Nashua to learn about the biology and ecology of dragonflies and damselflies. She will include information about their amazing life cycle and will explore their incredible diversity. Hear highlights about a number of NH's notable species and their stories as well as fascinating learnings from the “NH Dragonfly Survey”.
