Gardening in a Changing Climate
Presented by Sherry Godlewski, Resilience and Adaptation Manager for the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services

The Nashua Garden Club invites all levels of gardeners and those who simply enjoy gardens to its March 4th program, Gardening in a Changing Climate, presented by Sherry Godlewski, Resilience and Adaptation Manager for the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services. You've likely observed shifts in local weather patterns.  Winters and summers are 'not what they used to be' as we've experienced later frosts, earlier planting times, heavier rain events and longer stretches of drought. This program addresses some of the causes and impacts of these changes along with recommendations of how to adapt gardening practices.

After Ms. Godlewski earned an M.S. in Environmental Communication and Administration from Antioch University and has worked at the NH Department of Environmental Services for over 20 years in a variety of water, air, waste and environmental health programs.  She served on several regional and statewide commissions and working groups including the Governor's Climate Change Policy Task Force and participated in the development of the New Hampshire Climate Action Plan.  She is currently co-chair of the NH Coastal and the Upper Valley Adaptation Workgroups.

Join Garden Club members at 7 PM on Wednesday, March 4th at the First Baptist Church, 121 Manchester Street, Nashua to get a brief look at the causes and impact of climate change and how we can adapt our growing strategies and habits to both minimize our own impact on the environment and keep growing the plants that we enjoy.

All are welcome!!
Light refreshment will be served.
Members: Free
Nonmembers: $5.00
This event will be held rain or shine unless an Emergency Weather Watch is posted on WMUR TV.
