Knowing and Growing Hydrangeas
Presented by Emma Erler of the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension

The Nashua Garden Club is thrilled to offer its March 2021 program, Knowing and Growing Hydrangeas, presented by Emma Erler of the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension. This informative session will discuss one of our area’s most beautiful type of flowering plants, the Hydrangea, and will take place Wednesday, March 3rd at 7:00 PM via a Zoom conference open to Nashua Garden Club members.

Hydrangeas are seen in many New Hampshire gardens and are breath-taking in full bloom.  Yet, successfully getting them to fully flower is a subject that baffles many gardeners – novice and experienced alike. Hydrangeas are really quite simple to care for, as long as you understand which species is in your garden. This educational presentation will include an overview of several species of Hydrangeas common to New Hampshire and will detail the differing growth habits and pruning requirements of each.

Ms. Erler joined the University of New Hampshire Extension in 2017 and has served as the Education Center Program Coordinator.  With her broad expertise in landscape horticulture she also works with Master Gardener volunteers to help them answer the 1000’s of questions submitted to the Co-operative Extension Infoline. Additionally, she designs and delivers workshops and presentations on various gardening and nature topics to NH’s gardening public. You’ll be sure to learn at least a few new tips from her session.

In accordance with guidance from public health officials about limiting the spread of COVID-19, the Nashua Garden Club will conduct this session virtually via a Zoom conference.  Participation will be available to members of the Nashua Garden Club.  To inquire about membership, please see the membership section on our website:  http://www.nashuanhgardenclub.org/membership .  Further questions can be sent to NashuaGardenClub@Gmail.com .
